What we do

What flooring services does Surface Pro San Diego offer?

Hardwood, LVP, tile, laminate, engineered, plus refinishing, repair, subfloor prep, stairs, and commercial work. One company, one crew, one quote.

Why homeowners pick us

Why do San Diego homeowners choose Surface Pro San Diego?

San Diego flooring has specific challenges. Coastal humidity is hard on solid hardwood. Slab-on-grade construction needs proper moisture testing. Older tract homes hide surprise vinyl tile under the carpet. We measure, test, and prep before we install — which is why the floors we put down stay flat.

  • In-home measure, written quote. Real product samples on your floor before you decide. No high-pressure showroom.
  • Moisture and flatness tested first. Slab moisture probe and 10-foot straightedge on every install. Most failed floors fail because someone skipped this step.
  • Brand-neutral product recommendations. We carry samples from multiple manufacturers. We tell you which is right for your slab, your traffic, and your budget — not which one we get the deepest discount on.
  • Same crew, start to finish. Demo, prep, install, finish, transitions. One team accountable from first measure to walk-on day.

Real feedback

What homeowners across the county say

Twenty-year-old oak floors that I was about to replace. They sanded, stained, and sealed them — they look brand new. Dust containment was real. Crew was on time every day. Cost a third of what replacement would have been.

Melissa R. Hardwood Refinishing · Carlsbad

Got three quotes for the same LVP. Surface Pro was the only one that probed the slab for moisture before quoting. Two other contractors would have skipped it. Floor's been down six months and there's not a single edge curling anywhere.

David K. LVP Installation · El Cajon

Coastal house, slab on grade. They explained why solid hardwood was a bad call here and walked me through engineered options. Picked European white oak, glue-down install. Looks like real wood because it is real wood, but handles the humidity.

Priya S. Engineered Hardwood · Encinitas

Pulled all the carpet, treated a water-damaged subfloor we didn't know about, and installed white oak through the whole main floor. Three days, one crew, one quote. House looks completely different.

Tom B. Carpet to Hardwood · Poway

Large-format porcelain in our master bath. They used leveling clips and the lippage is invisible — every other tile job I've had in the past has had at least one ridge you can feel. Grout lines are dead straight.

Angela M. Tile Installation · Chula Vista

Bath leak ruined a section of original 1970s hardwood. They sourced matching boards, wove them in, and refinished the patch so well I genuinely cannot tell where the repair starts. Eight years from now I'll still not be able to tell.

All FAQs
What areas in San Diego County do you service?

We service every city in San Diego County — from coastal communities like Encinitas and Carlsbad, to inland cities like San Marcos, Escondido, and Poway, through East County (El Cajon, La Mesa, Santee), South Bay (Chula Vista, National City), and the mountain and backcountry. If you're in the county, we install flooring there.

How much does flooring cost?

It depends on product. Luxury vinyl plank runs $5–$9 per sq ft installed. Engineered hardwood is $8–$14. Solid hardwood is $9–$16. Tile (porcelain or ceramic) is $11–$20 depending on size and pattern. We line-item demo, prep, and transitions separately so you can see the full picture before you decide.

How fast can you start a new floor?

Most jobs start within 1–2 weeks of the in-home consult. Hardwood needs 5–10 days of on-site acclimation before install, so the install date sits inside that window. We do not pressure you to commit on the spot — the quote stays valid for 30 days.

Do you handle subfloor prep, demo, and old-flooring removal?

Yes. Every quote includes demo of the existing floor, haul-away, and subfloor prep. We test slab moisture and flatness before quoting, and line-item any prep work separately so the scope is clear from the start.

Can you match my existing hardwood for a repair?

Most of the time, yes. We carry common species and widths in stock and can usually source close matches in a few days. Matching the finish on aged wood is the harder problem — sometimes the cleanest fix is a full-room refinish after the patch goes in. We will tell you which path makes sense at the in-home consult.
